The new Sol-gel technique has for the most part been developed at S-Solar’s site in Finspång, Sweden. The business started in 1979 and in 1980 the first global patent was secured. Thereafter the innovations followed and in 2008 investments into new products, R&D and know-how, new markets, has continued.

It has taken 15 years of cooperation from experts in metallurgy, chemistry, gas techniques?, material process handling and coating application production to deliver Sol-gel from the laboratory to a production ready product.

Extensive efforts and investments has been done to develop the Sol-gel technique including the production concept and process. The basis for Sol-gel and its future success is the extensive and exclusive know-how in chemistry, qualities of surfaces, production process and technology for large scale production.
